Why piano? Many have asked me why I decided to learn and play the piano. In my lifetime, I’ve also played guitar, drums, saxophone and clarinet. I always enjoyed piano the best as you can do the most with it. You have 88 keys and 10 fingers to do endless combinations of magic. You can play classical, jazz, pop, and anything under the sun.
Now that I have been learning and playing for over 20 years, I am a very different player (and teacher) from when I have started. In the past, I used to think consistent daily practice was all that was needed. Now I realised, to improve your piano skills, it’s so much more about smart and mindful practising rather than the sheer hours. These days I can accomplish in 15 min what I needed 15 days to do ten years ago.
